Road Rally Archives: The Visits List (2004)

Ed. note: This is the Brain Benders list from last year - part of the Road Rally packet.

The following lists are collectively known as The Visits List. The Mandatory Visits must be completed before your team will be considered finished with the Rally. Any of the Mandatory Visits not completed will carry a 30-minute penalty when your Bonus Time is calculated. The Optional Visits include towns and places you may consider to visit depending on the physical location and mental state of your Rally Team. Optional Visits carry a Time Bonus, which will be deducted from your Overall Elapsed Time if verified in accordance with the Rally Rules.

Note: The Visits List is intentionally arranged in somewhat random order.

Mandatory Visits:

1. Take a photo of a team member dancing in front of the live entertainment in the lounge at the Lake Morey Resort (Fairlee, VT)
2. What event is taking place on Saturday night (8/28/04) at the Sugar Hill Speedway? (Weare, NH)
3. Take a photo of your team with the big black bear in front of The Black Bear Tavern (St. Johnsbury, VT)
4. Take a photo of a team member with a stranger under the gazebo at the Bedford Village Inn (Bedford, NH)
5. Who’s performing at the Sawyer Center Theater at Colby Sawyer College on Saturday night (8/28/04)? (New London, NH)

Special Mandatory Item:
Find a postcard of the Old Man and the Mountain. Write a nice note to Matt and Suzanne Kennedy about what fun you’re having doing the Road Rally this year. Address the card to the Kennedy’s at 433 Lincoln Street – Santa Rosa, CA 95401. Finally, put the correct postage (23 cents) on the postcard without using any denomination twice (e.g. you can only use a four cent stamp once) and bring it in with you to the Farm. We’ll mail all the postcards on Saturday. BTW… Matt is a former Rally Champion.

Optional Visits:

1. Take a photo of a team member next to Panel #16 (Hispano – America by Orozco) in the Reserve Room at the Dartmouth College Library in Hanover, NH (open until 8pm) (45 minute bonus)
2. Take a photo of a stranger riding piggy back on a team member in the bar at The Hungry Bear in Bradford, VT (open until 11pm) (30 minute bonus)
3. Take a photo of a team member enjoying a shot of Sambuca with a stranger at The Hungry Moose Restaurant & Lounge in Weare, NH (45 minute bonus)
4. Take a photo of a team member with the chef in the kitchen of the Red Star Chinese Restaurant in Hopkinton, NH (30 minute bonus).
5. Get a scorecard from the Countryside Golf Course in Dunbarton, NH (30 minute bonus).
