2007 Road Rally - #2 (Akina Speed Stars)

Akina's bid for a third straight Plaque O' Green fell just short, so short that it took a recount, inspection of hanging chads and an audit by an executive from a prestigious retail banking firm to figure it out. As is usually the case, they did it all, from kissing lobsters and hugging trees to pitching horseshoes with a complete stranger sporting a mohawk and very large dragonfly tattoos on his leg (I don't make any of this up... scout's honor). It's hard to point at any one item that caused them to fall short, but they certainly turned in a less than stellar performance in the optional scavenger items (90 minutes less than the 1st place team and 50 minutes less than the 3rd place team). Employing the "scatter" technique first employed by Big Red in 1999 and perfected by High Speed in 2001, might serve them well in 2008.
