Longe Range Forecast - Bring a Slicker

Long-range weather forecast from The Farmer's Almanac:

July 28th-31st. Thunderstorms for New England, then clearing skies.

Actually, this is pretty much the best long range forecast you can get (rationalizing). Thunderstorms usually mean hazy, hot and humid vs. a socked in weather system. And nothing beats watching the thunderheads roll over the pond from the top of the hill. Bring tarps.

Buzz Off TShirt = No good

Don't waste your money on this shirt from ex-officio (sp?). The mosquitoes at the pond will carry you away, shirt and all. Deep Woods Off is the official scent of the weekend.

Dinner Crew Needed

We're looking for a few volunteers to help out with procurement, prep and cleanup for dinner this year. Raise your hand by commenting in this thread and we'll get in touch with details as we get closer. Thanks in advance!

Packing List

Occasionally, someone asks me what they should bring for the weekend. In the past I put together an exhaustive list, but recently I stumbled across another list someone put together for people headed to the annual Burning Man event. This probably goes a bit overboard for Island Pond, but you might find some gems in there that make life easier on the Farm.
